Open call for literary residency program for authors from Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia

Authors from the region of the Western Balkans are invited to apply for the residency program within the project Literature Actually, supported by the British Council, to spend 1 month in Belgrade or Tirana and reflect upon reconciliation and cultural diversity.
The resident authors will be hosted by the KROKODIL Association in Belgrade, Serbia, and Instituti i Librit dhe i Promocionit in Tirana, Albania. In total 4 residency grants are planned for 2025, 3 in Belgrade and 1 in Tirana.
The residencies will take place in Belgrade in March, May, and July 2025, and Tirana in October 2025. The partner organizations will provide residents with a fully equipped apartment, cover travel costs, and award a residency stipend.
We are welcoming young, emerging writers. Eligibility criteria to be met by applicants:
◾ to have at least one published literary work
◾ to be legal residents of Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia, or Serbia. Applicants from Serbia and Albania cannot apply for residencies in their home countries.
The deadline for submission of the application is February 15th, 2025 EOD.
The “Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans” (CC4WBs) is a project funded by the European Union that aims to foster dialogue in the Western Balkans by enhancing the cultural and creative sectors for increased socio-economic impact.
